Atkinson’s current work uses weather data to inform protozoic shapes that act as building blocks for sculptural cloud-form compositions. Disastrous stories are camouflaged in beautiful configurations and shiny materials, warning us not to be distracted by the algorithm, polarized media and consumer culture but to find answers for 
a more sustainable future.

The Unless collection presents an abstract visualization of how humankind’s actions in the here and now are linked to climate change — artworks inspired by data from extreme weather events across Canada. As the climate continues to warm, one can expect increasing wildfires, more intense droughts, hurricanes, and heat waves.
