Appraisals for individuals

If you are a member of the public, the ADAC may be able to assist you with advice or a referral. Before you send a request, collect as much of the following information as possible about the work(s) that you are looking to have appraised:

  • the name of the artist(s)
  • the date of the work
  • the medium
  • the size of the work
  • the provenance (any details about the history of ownership of the work, even if they are family stories).
  • any signatures, labels or other inscriptions on the work (including the back)
  • digital images of the work. Jpgs are best, and they do not need to be professional photos - you can use your phone!

Send your inquiry to info@ad-ac.ca, and we will do our best to refer you to the most appropriate appraisal expert.

Please note that ADAC does not inspect, authenticate, identify or conduct research on artworks. ADAC does not purchase artwork or act in any way as an agent between sellers and dealers.
